Looking for help on a teak/holly floor. Had a water stain from a rug. Attempted to sand out and finally got down to bare teak. Problem is a yellow color between finish and bare teak. Not sure if it is a sealer or primer but is tough as nails. Would like to refinish floor rather than replace. Tried several paint/varnish removers. Nothing touches it. Any ideas ? Honestly, that looks like glue....and you've sanded through the pretty veneer down to the next layer.
Of course, that's what it "looks" like from the picture....without being there to see it in person I can't say for sure....is the flooring solid hardwood, or is it marine plywood with the teak/holly veneer?

Unfortunately, I think you've sanded thru the veneer and this is the re-finishing kit..

I'm in the process of refinishing all of my badly neglected teak. I'm finding that Catalina, in places, used some very expensive solid teak...and in others, gone quite cheap on us!
When I did the decorative piece up in the nose of the v-berth....wow...not only was that thing super thin, but the teak veneer is like paper! At least the bulkheads are 1/2" plywood with a 1/8" teak veneer.....enough there to carefully sand down to good wood.

You have sanded through the veneer into the substrate. Unless you are pretty good a laying veneer your looking at replacement.
Fortunately cabinet grade plywood (you have to hunt through the stock to get one with the right grain pattern) a router, some aspen strips for the holly and a small can of Gunstock stain and you can make a new one in about a day. finishing will take a while as you will want several coats and sand in between....

Thanks for the reply. Yep, look before you leap. I should have researched a little more prior to breaking out the palm sander. Oh well, live and learn.
