I need some help with my decks. There was water intrusion and they need to be completly replaced along with the rotted stringers and cross beams. Can anyone please advise me on the best way to do this, what kind of wood to use, and if there are any good books out there for this. Thank you. sincerely, Geoff NASGW2000@aol.com

Teak decks are beautiful (for others).

Geoff: Teak decks are wonderful for others to own, just not me. Here is something you may want to check out. http://www.yandina.com/TeakDeck.htm I'd search the internet and see if you can find someother info too.

I agree with Steve

I agree with Steve. The best looking teak decks are at Barnes and Noble. Another good source is www.maritimewoodproducts.com.

teak decks - good old boat mag

There was a very interesting article in good ol boat magazine of either june or july about relacing teak decks with a composite that looked the same but was less expensive and would wear better. You should look at this
