I'm trying to finish the refinish project I started last season. I have all the teak stripped and sanded on the seats in the cockpit. It will be ready for caulking soon. The floor of the cockpit has removable teak grid panels in two pieces. I'd like to soak them in a good strong stripper to remove what I think is Cetol. Living in a condo makes it tough to work with really good chemicals. I have to do everything in the shower that has a fiberglass floor. I stripped the seats with a soy based stripper so the fiberglass on the boat wouldn't get damaged. Its a very gentle stripper though.it did a great job eventually. The grid has all the squares and nooks and crannies that take time to get into. What I was thinking about was taking them to a furniture refinisher and have them dipped. Thoughts? Teak should be able to stand up pretty well I think. I will be finishing all teak with oil only.
That was a long trip for a short question...just how my brains working.
The top part of the teak turned out not too bad, a sanding will get most out. Maybe I shouldn't worry about the bottom...The second picture shows all the crevices that I'll have to get into on the underneath side.
