On the to-do-list this spring will be to replace some sections of the Sole / re-varnish. I've made some alterations with the seating arrangement in the galley / salon that exposed some damaged flooring panels and found a warped panel as well.

My problem is I can not find a wood manufacture who sells teak and ebony flooring, have only been able to find teak and holly.

Any recommendations. See attached picture for reference.

After I get the new panels i'm thinking about using Epifanes Varnish, herd this stuff was good.
hopefully matching the new with the old wont be to hard...

Are you sure it's ebony? Usually the black is just some of of sealant or even paint. "Ebony" is sometimes just another word for "Black".

Not sure that it's ebony, but it is hard. Don't think that it's rubber.

If you can't find a match, you could try faking it by making some "faux" teak and ebony using a hardwood plywood such as birch and some creative staining techniques. Not my idea, but something I pilfered off the web. Basically, you lay down Frog tape in the approx. location of the stripes, then measure, mark and score the edges of the stripes with a knife down through the tape and into the veneer. This will keep the stain from creeping. Peel the extra tape up and make sure you smooth the tape edges on the existing tape. Stain, and remove tape later.

In my case, I was looking to duplicate a teak and holly look, so the lines are light. In your case, you'd have to stain the whole piece first, then darkly stain just the line locations. The best choice of plywood would probably be Baltic birch, because the core is hardwood and exterior glues are used on it. It only comes in 4 or 5 ft sheets, though. I had to use standard birch ply on mine as it had to be longer than that.

Pics. below. First is after staining and before removing tape, second is after removing tape, third is after 2 coats of epoxy sealer, and 4 coats of polyurethane. Stain is cherry.
