I have a ronco holding tank in starboard side of cockpit. Desiel tank under floor/cushion of aft cabin. I am considering the Item TM02, SCAD Profile 1-8-Tank Monitor Panel Monitor water, waste and fuel tanks made by New Providence Marine and sold thur Sailor Solutions. 1. Anyone have experience with New Providence Products in general? 2. Anyone know the composition of this older ronco holding tank and the capability of using external sensors? PS: Still not sure of capacity? 3. I believe there to be two fresh water tanks although I have never seen or accessed them other than filling them. One on port side under cabin seat. Not sure where the starboard tank is located or access point? Anyone know location? Anyone know the material of the tanks ? As always, thank you for any advice.

The February issue of Practical Sailor tested the Scad TM-01 which was "recommended" for the single tank category. For multiple tanks PS recommended the Sensatank Marine 100. You might want to check it out.

New Providence
are the people that designed and built the Snake River system. The company was purchased and moved to Georgia and has disapeared. Dennis Feriolla (sp) put together the new company with the old employes and they have developed a better mousetrap or tank gauge. They have a much better product than the old Snake River monitor and the support is first class. Go to http://newprovidencemarine.com

SCAD did not put our multiple tank unit in but if they had done so it would have been I think #1 also. If anyone needs any help on monitoring you can always get hold of me, just ask Jim. (Harry sorry to hijack your thread) Dennis, I've been using the Snake River Tank monitor on my Hunter 326 for >5 years now. Great stuff, accurate and easy to calibrate. I need to relocate one of the silver foil slightly. What I would do is to add a new foil at the new location (2" away) but can I peel & transplant the copper pad without destroying it ?

Ken: The foil you can get in a hardware store but the copper pad will not come off. Give me a call and I will send you a copper pad with a few inchs of white wire attached then you can splice it. If you ever want to upgrade just let me now, lots of features on our unit. Remember our engineer Dave is the one that designed the unit you have. We just made it a lot better. But if you are happy that's all that matters. If it ever stops working will still give you an upgrade special, I just need the old panel back for spare parts.
