Does anyone have experiences to share with the Fireboy-Xintex Water/Holding Tank Monitor products? The price seems reasonable, and the sending unit is available in a 1 1/2" NPT thread that should fit perfectly in my situation. Can anyone share experiences regarding product quality? Reliability of sensors? Durabillity? Thanks, Larry

Check out the Snake River products website. The tank monitors don't require cutting into the tank. They monitor externally. I put one in last year to monitor my holding and water tanks and it works well. http://www.snake-river.org/Products.asp

It's not that easy!

Thanks, George... I really wish it was that simple. My tank is not external. On the Morgan 382, the tank is actually integrated into the back end of the encapsulated keel. Out of the way, and it saves space, but tough to work on and can't be easily rebuilt/repaired. There's a 1 1/2" threaded fitting in the top of the tank (the floor of the bilge) where the oem sensor fits. I suppose I could rebuild the old sensor, but it'd be a messy job and might not last. So when I saw the Fireboy-Xintex that looked like it should fit, it sparked my interest. So my question still stands... Does anyone have experience with the Fireboy-Xintex product? Larry

Snake River product might work...

George, Thanks for the tip. I finally did visit the Snake River site and found that not only do the offer the external tank sensors, but they have a pvc "rod" sensor of various lengths, too. These have a 1" NPT thread and would insert down into the tank and screw into the existing fitting. I would just need to step up the 1" to a 1-1/2" PVC. So can anyone comment on the quality/reliability of the Snake River products? Thanks, Larry

They aren't as good as they used to be

When SR and Dennis Ferriello (their national sales manager for a number of years) came to a NOT amicable parting of ways a few years ago, Dennis started his own company http://ferriellosales.com/default.php and hired SR's engineer to design and build 'em. SR's just sort of been limping along ever since, with increasing reports of problems with the gauges and unhelpful or non-extistant customer service...while Dennis' company has been taking most of their OEM business and providing incredible customer service. I've been paying very close attention to both companies...and IMO Dennis' Profile tank monitoring systems are the best value on the market.
