I have a '93 Catalina 30 and I'm trying to finish the installation of a Snake River Accugage monitoring system. The display is already installed but the sending units weren't when I purchased the boat last year. So, I found the water and holding tanks are simply set in a fiberglass "box" keeping them from moving but the tanks are not tabbed in place. But, the discharge hose for the holding tank exits a hole in the fiberglass at the bottom and with the hoses in place I can't raise the tank to access the sides. Would it be best to remove the hose and fitting from the tank or cut a slot in the fiberglass wall to allow the unit to be lifted without removing the hose? I'm concerned I may not be able to get the hose off easily as when I replaced the head to tank hose it had caulk applied to it when it was installed and I had to cut it off, it appears the discharge hose does also. Thanks Jim

Another idea...

Instead of just a slit, can you cut a "window" in the fiberglass wall big enough to allow you to put the strip on the tank?

That's a good thought

Thanks Peggie. I hadn't even thought of that. That would help keep the integrity of the wall intact. I'll give it a try.
