I need to turn on circuit breaker for tank monitoring and than flip little toggle switch to either tank.
I have fuel gauge at the helm with the key switch and all the other fire extinguisher alarm and high water bilge alarm and had room that I added temp for engine with the normal alarms for temp and oil.
I will try adding the foil system to my wema gauge after new years and heading to NY for some cold weather and hoping no snow for my 2 day drive each way, spend XMAS with family every year.

Wufi, the aluminum foil us same as those used for wrapping aircon ducting. Just stick two parallel vertical strip at above 3-4" apart from top of tank to near bottom. Then stick the copper pad at top end of the aluminum foil.

The on/off switch is a good idea that I will incorporate Woody.

Sorry for being dense, Ken. I get your instructions for putting parallel foil strips on the tank and mounting the copper sensor to one of them. What is the purpose of the other strip?

Just like to know a few of the "why" in case I have to explain it to someone else. As my daughter used to say, "Dad, I have a question, but I just want the short answer." Then she became an engineer. Now it's, "Kris, I have a question . . . . "
