We are wondering if anyone has any comments about how accurate their tank indicators are - the water tank and the holding tank? We never seem to get higher than LOW on our holding tank, even when we think it might be fuller...

Tank indicator accuracy

My water tank indicator on my '99 380 was only working on the 7/8 - full range. Hardly at all. I took the improperly factory installed sending unit off and looked in the tank. Low and behold there was a useless projection in the tank that hit the sender tube half way down the tank. I think it was part of the injection port when the tank was made. The slider would work in only the top half or bottom half of the tank. Reached in with a hot screwdriver and melted the interfering tube off, replaced and properly installed a new sending unit, and it works fine. Hunter said the sender unit was preinstalled by the tank manufacturer when Hunter received the tanks and they are not able to look into the tanks. Now my gauges are both accurate. I contacted WEMAUSA.com to get the test procedures for the gauge and sending unit. They can be checked by a resistance meter according to the spec. The sending unit I needed was $40. I'm glad I did not have to mess with the holding tank. I will not replace that unit if it goes bad since I can see the whole side of the tank. The water tank is totally buried in the v-berth.

Snake River AcuGage is VERY accurate

The sender never comes in contact with the contents, so it can't clog up (something Wema gauges are notorious for doing). Hunter has dropped Wema guages altogether and are now installing AcuGauge.

Snake River great!

I installed the Snake River gauge on my 336 this Spring, and I am very pleased with it. I just cut the old wires and used them, so no new wires to run. The only glitch is the round hole in the electrical panel which is larger in diameter than the Snake River display is wide. I purchased a small sheet of plastic at a hobby shop, and used that to make a patch to fit behind the display. Painted metallic black it is barely noticeable.

John: Thanks for the great comments. I am glad you are enjoying the accuracy of your mini panel. Dennis Ferriello Snake River Electronics
