I'm planning to transit the canal that zig zags through Tangier Island in the Chesapeake Bay. I understand an overhanging cable is 50 feet off the water. My Hunter 320 stands 47 feet 9 inches. I'm worried about the cable sagging in the August heat. Has anyone done this recently, or have advice for me where to dock, etc? Thanks.

Unless this cable is something new in the last three years, I've never seen it. I've been in and out of Tangier several times with a H40.5 (both sound and bay entrances). You could always call Milton Parks at Parks Marina and ask about an overhanging wire.
