What about a single 7000 pounder?
There is a poster here (Nils Anderson) who believes a single 7000 pound axle is preferable to dual 3500's. Nils has a H260. He's an engineer and made other significant changes to the trailer as well.I just thought I'd mention this in case it is an idea that you hadn't considered. I wish I had thought of it when I replaced the single axle on my H23.5 trailer with a new single 3500 pounder.I won't try to defend the reasons. A single 7000# has to be better than a single 3500#, but there are differences of opinion when it comes to dual 3500# compared to a single 7000#. The objections that Nils got were partly due to the weight of the H260 and I'd say don't really apply when we're talking about a 3200 pound load. After all, you have a 23.5 that the factory sent out with a single axle in the first place.I searched the archives and found two threads for you..Addendum: posting the archive links seem too long to work. Search the archives for 2003 and 2004 for posts with the words "Nils Anderson" as author, smaller boats forum. One of the subjects was "Towing H260 7,500 Miles". It is split across the two years. Another thread seems to have a blank subject....RickM...
