I had to remove two port holes. I feared they were set in with 5200 or equivalent. There was damage to the bulkheads from a long continuous overhead leak. To my surprise, I had the first one out in 30 minutes! It was set in 30 years ago with 4000 of equivalent, still pliant and tacky on the inside surfaces! I feared 5200 because we removed a port light a while back It came out in pieces and had to be re-manufactured.

Perhaps the old girl is starting to forgive the neglect I heaped on her the last few years. Yeh, right.

if they are plastic .... they should never be set with 5200..... silicon only based sealant as any thing else will destroy the plastic ...dow makes a good sealant (795) for this it is silicon based and is great...... it comes in bronze..black..and white at around 6.50 to 10.00 a tube.... look under construction adheasives
