Tack Tick Race Master

Our boat came equipped with some toys including a mast mounted Tack Tick Race Master. I'm no physics engineer however I'm going to try to figure this thing out next week.

Could use some help in describing how it works and what advantages (if any) when we sail in an upcoming 30 mile point to point races.

It will show you lifts and headers based on HOW you drive the boat

In other words if the wind shifts to your advantage and you do not notice and keep the same course its just a nice compass if you head up Or down with the wind shifts the display will show the trend

Then I really don't think it will be of value because I know when we are being lifted or knocked.

After using the original a long time the lift / header trending is the only really useful feature trying to do a push button starting line bias while going in circles with 40 other boats is not as simple as the instructions in real life

I agree with you there... however, Ducati may not have a digital compass... and those are much more accurate than an analog compass for determining windshifts patterns, mean headings, etc.... So I thought the operation manual would help... he's probably got that anyway.
