Anybody out there know how to hook up a tachometer to a Universal 5411, or even where to find a tach that will work on the engine. Off the shelf (West Marine, etc,) don't seem to be compatible.THANKS!
I found a 0 to 4000 rpm tach in the J.C.Whitney on line catalog. Cost is about $60.00. Instructions for hook ups to several kinds of engines including diesel. I can make a copy of the instruction sheet that came with the unit and mail it to you if that would help. JohnGnMB@aol.com
Steve; The tach takes its reading from the alternator, and the hook-up is simple on most of them. Get a marine unit, though, for its corrosion resistance. Good luck.
