tachometer connection

Hi,
I have a problem with the tachometer/operating hour counter.
It is not connected!
Can any one tell me how to connect a new meter?
Is there a W connection on a alternator of a 6B?

Hi Klass

The Rev counter (tachometer) of the MD6A/B or MD7B uses a special pickup on the back end of the engine. It looks like a big bolt with a spade connector. It takes the pulses from the teeth of an internal gear in the housing. It does not use the W connection of the alternator like some other engines.
