tach stop working

my tach stopped working in 32 ft 2001 hunter,but my hour meter is still working any idea,

Two beers...

put down one of them ( ) and find the connector for the tach sensor in the flywheel teeth area at the back of the engine. Pull it apart, clean it, put it back together after crimping the female end so it grips better.

The hour meter is still getting power from the panel, but the tach signal has apparently quit. This is not an uncommon problem.
