Give it a chance
Don, I had the same concern about the 306 initially. It seemed as if the table was always in the way and visually overpowered the salon. I finally decided instead of cutting the table down I would make the starboard side a drop-leaf like the port side. In the process of measuring I lowered the table to the bunk/berth/whatever position(the bottom table edge rests on the settee top under the cushions), laid the factory cushions on top of the table, sat down and stretched out to plot my next move. I was amazed at how comfortable it was and how much it seemed to open up the salon. Decided to try it that way awhile and we absolutely love it! It now stays down 99% of the time catching all the stuff one carries aboard looking for a place to set down until stowed, providing a comfortable place to stretch out and relax/read/nap not to mention it provides the best place on the boat for the dog to snooze. Might be worth a try...works for us. Have a great day!
