OK. Obsessive with new boat. Saw a 1990 C&C with a custom table and nav station covering. Pristine wood underneath. Fabric must have come on a bolt since the pieces were custom fitted. Place mat type of material with foam backing and nonskid surface. This had a nautical theme printed on it. Have found tons of simple mats...some solid some waffled with holes. Looked online, fabric stores, marine stores...no luck.

You need to better define your search. There are many ways to make table pads and place mats. Felt or flannel backing will protect the finish but not provide a non slip surface. Rather than just looking in fabric shops ask the clerks for advise and ideas. Many of those people sew for pay part time and all of them sew for pleasure.
