There appears to be no specific place to stow the dining table leaf which is a hazard if left unsecured when removed. Hasanyone addressed the problem?

on my boat, the wall in the head is the only flat space available thats big enough for storing a flat object...
what a previous Owner did was place the leaf in the corner, and built 2 "L" shaped chocks (like oversized mirror clips) at the bottom for the panel to set in so it couldnt kick out, and then installed a stopper block so it couldnt slide sideways when heeled.... then fashioned another "L" shaped block at the top that swiveled on its mounting screw...

then place the leaf in the lower brackets, push it flat to the wall and turn the top chock/latch to secure it...

this is a quick and easy way to create secure storage for anything that is flat on one side, and any flat area that is large enough and available would work for this... even overhead...

Don't know the layout of your boat but I assume you have tried under the cushions of the settee, dinette or quarter berth.

On my H44AC the aft stateroom stbd side hanging locker has plenty of space inside at the back of the locker for it, just slide the clothes aside to pull it in or out. The cushions to make it a bed fit nicely in the big storage area under the v berth.

Probably very different design but on our 38 there is a place build into the wall between the forward cabin and the settee that was made specifically for storing the leaf. Even came with a bag to put it in.

Outboard in starboard aft hanging locker. Fits perfectly.

But where to put it on a 26 footer? It is wider than the settee. So far, when sailing it goes under the cushions of the v berth. But still don't like it there.
