Does anyone have any experience with mast tabernacle on a Catalina 34,36,38? Do any companies make kits? Does anyone have any structural drawings or Photos. Steve Hutton

Has anyone checked this guy out? There is no Catalina 38 Mark II. There are no mast tabernacles on any of the Catalina models he asks about. His link logs onto a site without authentication, which my security SW doesn't like. Phil, I think this needs to be deleted.

Tabernacled Cat 38
Against the possibility that this is a valid post: A few years ago I saw a Catalina 38 with a tabernacled rig in Channel Islands Harbor. It was in the upper private homes area on the 'other' side of the Harbor Blvd bridge. It was quite a piece of engineering!!! I have no idea who did the work or who owns the boat. As for kits, I doubt that anyone makes a kit, as each boat could be rigged a little differently and the liability would be HUGE !!! It already is with any tabernacled rig. There was a rigger who did quite a few of them for boats in the Santa Cruz Harbor to get under the bridge to access the upper harbor. He no longer does them since a woman sustained crushing injuries when she went forward and pulled on the forestay when the mechanism got hung up.
