Synthetic Decking

One of my winter project is to redo me cabin sole, but I am also looking at the idea of replacing it with a synthetic flooring. This would reduce my winter projects in the future. I got to admit, I am natural wood type of guy and it will take a lot to convince me to go the synthetic way. I am looking at Nu Teak (http://www.nuteak.com/). Has any had any experiences with synthetic decking?

Salty, do yourself a favor if you haven't already done so, and get some samples of the Nuteak product. While playing around with Nuteak myself, I've found that the simulated raised grain can easily be damaged. Run you fingernail against the fake grain and see how the surface texture is easily disfigured. It seems like a durable product but I don't think it will look very attractive in a few years. Just my observations on some samples and not on a real life application.

There is a very thin plastic product at Home Despot that I am considering putting down until I can do the sole over right. It is only about an eighth of an inch thick, waterproof and actually looks pretty nice. They should make it in teak and holly! I was toying with the idea of cutting strips from one of their lighter colors to get the same effect, but the planks are about six inches wide and it would be tough to cut thin strips of the pretty tough material accurately. Its inexpensive too.
