thank you for the reply, am trying to contact D and R Marine, is there anywhere else that i can get the wedges? if they don't have them where can i find specs to make them? what damage if any am i causeing and would the effect be reduced if i were to raise the keel and only lower while under way? again thanks in advance for any help

Perhaps --

Your wedges are not the proper thickness or the wedges are loose and not "glued" to the sides od the stub keel. (Glued with Life Caulk.) You surely must have wedges with your keel, otherwise your center board would have "fallen down" and the pivot rod would be resting on the two ss plates on either side of the cb slot.

I have replaced the wedges on my 26. I also replaced the pin. The pin was 1" nylon. To change the wedges requires a sling lift because it is necessary to take board out to put pin in and out. You also need room to work. If one wedge is good then it can be used of model to create new ones. Otherwise D & R is the only know source. If you make your own, it must be waterproof. The originals are molded fiberglass. Ed K Greenville, SC, USA
