side play - 26

Harry, The keel flops around a bit even if everything is ok. But to drop the assembly, go inside to the fibreglass plate under the table that surrounds the mast support. Move it up out of the way and you will see a bolt head, about 1" across the flats. Loosen that, and the assembly drops. Beware, the keel is heavy! You'll need one strong guy or two like me to catch it. It's been a couple of years since I've done it. There may be a couple of minor steps I have forgotten, but that's most of it. Let me know what you see. I'm going to check mine during my next haulout in a few months. David King

DAVID what if...

Sounds like a haul-out with slings and placed on jackstands to do???$$$$$$$$ How about dropping while in the water with lines over the side to support.. Could their be anything lost (stay in shallows) wouldn't the weight be cut considerably and if the lines are placed so, they could reposition ? How about the keel bolt and the water level, is it below the now empty bolt hole? Once out, is the pin and bushing a quick fix or are you talking machine shop time? thanks.. just a thought

Hello Harry

I was very interested in your picture post about increased headroom. The first 2 pics didn't come across. Any chance of reposting it? I'm looking at R and Ring my centerboard too. Trying to figure out if it can be done on the trailer. Probably a bad idea.
