Swing Keel Repalcement

I am in the process of replacing my swing keel on my O-day 25, after recieving damage after Katrina. My ques. is what are the wedges. Where are they located and what is their purpose. How big a job is this. The boat is now on a trailer (barely) in my back yard. There is a boat lift close by but not sure when it will be back up and running. Thanks for any and all help.

Not that difficult

you need to lift and support the boat while leaving access to the slot the centerboard lifts in to. There are two metal plates screwed into the bottom of the stub keel that hold wedges into position. These wedges hold inplace the pin that the centerboard pivots on. The centerboard weighs about 50 - 60 lbs if I remember correctly. The most difficult job might be re-feeding the line that raises and lowers the centerboard.Tom
