A question. My 1976 Tanzer 22, new to me, has a retractable keel. In swells it thumps alarmingly. Has anyone out there ever replaced the pivot? I have located the pivot pin, and it is aproximately 1/2" on one side and smaller on the other. I would like to replace it. The boat is on its trailer..... Thanks Paul

Hey Paul, Best you check with the T22 Class Association: http://www.tanzer22.com/ Someone there can answer your specific questions on the T22. From what I understand, the T22 centerboard is not as common as the fin keel. (They never made a swing keel as far as I can tell. Although, they did use carbon steel washers on the fin keel bolts and once they rusted through the keel would tend to swing!) Either the CB pin is worn/corroded or just as likely, the board bushing is damaged. The attached picture is from the T22 site listed as "Musa Centerboard After".
