and i have been grinding all the paint and i guess epoxy off. doesnt look toobad. but will have to re-epoxy and paint of course.. my question is about the pinion pivot hole.. anyone know how much bigger is the hole supposed to be than the pinion bolt. can you do some welding to make it a little smaller. then regrindor redrill the hole. what about welding some square pieces on either side of the keel, welding, then drilling a hole for the bolt. the boat is a 72 and looks like its seen some(alot)of use in the ocean, so there is rust on the keel that has to be taken off before doing anything with it..esp, theleading and trailing edges. not to mention the places where it looks like thekeel has been hit by something. although i dont think thats the case, just rust wearing it away..for the most part the keel is pretty damn solid, just placeslike the hole and the edges that need any real work..
