Swing Keel Cable

My keel cable is broken just above the point it attaches to the keel. I live in Las Vegas Nevada and would you believe there is not one repair shop for sail boats. I have attempted to repair it my self but I'm not sure how to push the cable through the ? (packing) to the keel from the inside of the boat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

the replacement cable can either be ordered from catalina or West Marine has the 1/19 1/4 in cable and aircraft fork and will have it swagged at their warehouse and ship it to you. The cable has to be fed from the buttom up to the winch...have replaced mine after a hurricane and it damaged the keel box.
