Any and all suggestions, comments and/or advice would be welcome concerning swing keel cable/pendant failures and the subsequent repair or non-repair of the damage caused by the failure. During an early October storm my Catalina 25 sank at mooring in eight feet of water after the swing keel punched a hole in the hull. Can it be repaired? Should it be repaired? Your thoughts would be appreciated. P.S. the cable was replaced 18 months ago.

Where did the cable come from?

A year and a half is a fairly short period in which a new keel cable fails. Hence, I wonder from where or whom you obtained your cable? Or did you possibly make a new one yourself?
