I was looking for ideas to make my boat { 1986 Catalina 27} better. I found another 1986 27 foot on yachtworld.com that had a good looking, well made swim platform attached to the stern. It would be much easier than the little ladder to get out of the water after swimming. I am sure its an aftermaket part. Has anyone every heard of a swim platform {aftermarket} for a sailboat? If you would like to see the picture of it go to "yachtworld.com" then search for a 1986 Catalina 27 between $14k and $18K. There are six of them and this one is the last one on the page. You might like it for your boat too. { then again , maybe not}. If I don't get a lead here I'll try the broker. thanks, Jack

here is a good one

If the link doesn't work then go to hunter owners and look for Bahamas in a 25.5 articles. The first in the series has this photo called launch position. I emailed Brian, one of the owners, and he directed me to some photos when this platform was being installed. Basically alluminum tubing with flanges for bolting to the transom. No idea what having one made would cost but it doesn't look like rocket science for a good welder. I've worked with a good welder or two but other than that have NO knowledge of what's rocket science for a welder. Good luck, Mike Oh yeah, ignore the woman in the photo the smiw platform is down and to the right. http://www.sailboatowners.com/upload/pix.tpl?folder=73284053991&sku=115023663046276753&fno=17
