What problems would I have if I put a swim platform across the stern. Does it need to fold up.

Drag

I wouldn't think there would be a problem with the swim platform as long as it didn't drag in the water at anytime while sailing. If you are heeled over, one side might drop, so that could be a consideration. Drag on one side might cause the boat to roundup. Also, it might look funny to people, but it's your boat and if it works best for you, then add one.

Swim Platform

I was thinking of adding one as well. Something that could flip up during sailing. I am sure I can do something in wood. It is on my "to-do" list for the off-season.

...has a series of pics that has a narrow, drop-down one on a Hunter 25.5. It's pretty neat, and retractable.
