i cut the side posts just below the cockpit floor level.then found a piece of s.s. tubing at west marine that slipped into the existing tubing.cut 2 6'' pieces,inserted them into the rail tube so as to protrude about 1.5''.had welder tack them into place.then drilled a hole in each assembly to permit insertion of a fast-pin.you will need to smooth down both the bore,and the tube a bit,but it works great.don't forget to put a short lanyard on each pin so you don't lose them.any questions,cosel@juno.com
