Does anyone in the northern Chesapeake Bay area have a surveyor that they have used and would share the name and number to contact?

Dan, I used Andrew Barends (888-693-2628) when I bought my Legend 37 two years ago. He was very thorough and did the survey in a timely manner. His report ran 16 pages and was used for both the lending company and to obtain insurance. I would use him again if I need a survey. Paul s/v Lady Sara Hunter Legend 37 Severna Park, MD

Two years ago we used Art Johnson Marine Surveys located in Rising Sun(410-658-3994)who found several problems (major) and missed several problems (minor)which is probably par for the course. The minor items were things that showed up after sailing half a season and would have been difficult to observe in a short sea trial. Boat is a 2003 H356 and we ended up in a protracted disagreement with both Hunter Marine and Tidewater Marina about warranty repairs for a hull defect that Art found. Both organizations ended up covering the cost of hull repairs under the warranty but it took a while.

Steve, Paul, Ross. I'm familiar with Art and will keep Andy as a back-up, turn-to. Ross, I need to have the boat resurveyed to up my liability insurance.
