Make sure

the person that does the survey is a sailor or very familiar with. When I look back at my survey for my boat, the guy sailed, but was not a sailor and did not know all the "little things" to look for / at. I personally think it makes a difference.....just my opinion

Another vote

for Kurnides. I used him when I bought my 290 in 2002. One of the guys I work with also used him - that's where I got his name.

We used Ed Viola for our pre-purchase survey

And He's a Sailor too

I didn't use Him but I was there when he surveyed my nephews power boat. Our paths crossed on the Great South Bay while out sailing. He was sailing too!.
