So today was the big day. In a nutshell, the survey/haulout/sea trials went extremely well. The surveyor basically told me that the boat is in above excellent condition and was very well maintained by the PO. The only deficiencies included: worn alternator belt, need to put a cap on the exposed post on the alternator, need to move the CNG switch from behind stove (it's on the panel), need to mount the smoke/CO detector (it was sitting on a shelf), isolate the AC and DC portions of the panel and replace fire extinguishers. That was it. He did suggest a few things as PM for the future and they included rebed bow pulpit (there was some moisture but no sign of delamination), put white lithium grease on the motor mounts and prop shaft flange bolts, and a few other maintenance suggestions.

Sea trial went great (except there was no wind), sails in excellent condition, running rigging is 1 year old. Boat turns on a dime (well, maybe a quarter or half-dollar). No leaks ot engine issues while underway.

As far as everyones suggestions were concerned:
Fridge worked fine, oven lit immediately, cutlass bearing was in good shape, engine, shaft and strut aligned, rudder was solis and no noises from the engine.

Hopefully all $$ will be dealt with beginning of the week (need to get PO's payoff amount, transfer funds to the appropriate people) and settlement will be midweek. Sailing the first leg of the trip on 7-24!

Thanks for all of your help everyone. Will be joining the 310 Owners Assoc. once I am an official owner.

Seond PaulJ's Questions with a few more

... need to move the CNG switch from behind stove (it's on the panel), ... , isolate the AC and DC portions of the panel ... put white lithium grease on the motor mounts and prop shaft flange bolts.
These are curious items. Were they modified from the factory configuration?

2000. I should have said behind the panel. Apparently the two ne'er shall meet. I've done this for two friends who had the same issue on their surveys years ago. I used PVC work boxes and the insurance companies were OK with it.
