Towards the end of the season my Tides Marine SureSeal Dripless shaft seal became undripless. Tightened everything down and checked the condition of the hose and it still drips so I'm going to change the lip seal over the winter. Unfortunately, the cool spare lip seal carrier did not come with the boat (don't think there's enough room for it) so I'm going to have to remove the coupling and slide the shaft out.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular brnad? Any hints, secrets or pitfalls??

Yes, I had one. What made the one on my boat go bad was misalignment. We removed itand and we installed a pss dripless. 4 years and still dripless!

Yes a PSS dripless is good but remember, the bellows need to be replaced periodically. About every 6 years.
