I think that boat looks just fine. What doesn't work, is the dodger, and maybe the other canvas.

However, I can't imagine what could be done to make a dodger look good on that boat. Something less traditional looking? Less tan, probably.

A lower dodger would work much better. I hate looking through glass all day and I don't have to on my boat.

What's a bigger failure is the lack of side handrails on the dodger. Dangerous without 'em.

As a model, the Buccaneers are truly awful.
That craigslist thing is something else though.... The Flyin' Hawaiian was a better lookin boat than that.

You've done a TON of work and projects on that boat. Man! I hope it ends up meeting your needs. A lot of the mods are aimed at your stated goal of making it a 30 foot trailerable cruiser. I get that. But a lot of the mods really hamper performance which I don't get, but that's just me. Now-useless winches blanketed by the dodger, way too wide genoa tracks that destroy pointing, dysfunctional traveler, etc.

But your boat your call. All good.

Ugliest? Not sure about gold-medal ugliest, but for sure its on the podium.

I don't think that there is anything ugly at all about that boat... I think the union between the Bimini and dodger is pretty great... I do wonder why the Bimini is so high? It seems like it could be positioned slightly down and forward so the backstay would not have pass through it and still have standing headroom. Maybe you are 6' 4"?

When the committee at C&C designed this boat they must have spent long hours sipping Mountain Dew and watching reruns of the Jetsons to stay awake. The Jetsonmobile was the obvious inspiration for the Mega.
