Need member to the H34 family, I need some support from knowledgeable members. Just bought a 84 and still waiting for it to be surveyed. The support I get will help get the boat some support: I am desperately looking for a cradle and Hunter can't help. They do not have the drawings ! I would buy one around Maryland, or have one built here. If anybody has one or has pictures and dimensions, it would be a tremendous help. Boat is shoal draft. Any comment will be appreciated. Thanks. Claude

Cradles

Since you are in Maryland, try Tidewater Marina in Havre de Grace. They sold more new 34s than anybody and probably have quite a few cradles around. Garret Pensell in the service department is the person to speak with. It is spring and the cradles are being moved around daily, so photographing, and measuring should be easy. They may even have one to sell.

34 cradle

I build a cradle for my 34 a few years ago. I have a drawing I could mail to you - only problem is that my boat is a deep draft. If you think it would be helpful let me know. It is a heavy one because I used what material I could get my hands on. Also, if in your travels you see a 34 sitting on a cradle, I would like to know where the boat is properly located on the cradle - like what is the dimension from the rear support to the keel. It apppears to have a lot of overhang at the stern. Ed Serenity

Support

Thanks Ed, Clyde and Yves and André. Tidewater could not sell me one as they needed all the cradles they have! But thanks to your help I actually have found a cradle that I photographed and measured close to my home. Luck was with me as a shoal draft 34 was sitting on it. I am having one built. It measures 13'4" X 5'6" (O.D.) with six adjustable legs. All the cradles I looked at for the 34 showed a lot of overhang both on the bow and the stern, but my guess is that probably more than 75% of the weight (keel, mast, engine, hot water tank, etc) is within that 13'6". Thanks again.
