I donated my old sails to an organization that introduces disadvantaged city kids to sailing. Now, they are starting a program to help some of these kids get the kind of education that might let them earn enough to become boat owners some day.

At the rate most of us are aging and the diminishing number of young people interested in things like sailing and cruising, the boating industry and infrastructure isn't going to be real healthy a couple decades down the road. Helping this kid out would be a small bit of support for the future and big support for this student.
