Yea let a good Nor'easter build up and that shore is the last place you want to be.

Over the last 40 year the state on MN has build a series of high-quality harbors of refuge every 20 miles or so to break up what was a huge length of unforgiving lee shore.

Is this recent? What shore? Magnificent! Not a place to challenge nature.

Last weekend. Tettegouche State Park. And that cliff is 100 feet tall. Those are full grown trees at the top.

Just a few miles down the way, the iconic Split Rock light, sitting on a 133 foot cliff.

The Great Lakes are often underestimated.

In 1970, after growing around oceans and in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, when I first saw Lake Ontario my impression was "This is a Lake?"

Ontario is the smallest of the 5, and it gets nasty. This is a storm from a few years ago on Ontario at Oswego.
