I'm finally tired of folding sails after 25 years. I'm currently researching roller furlers. Can anyone shed some light on the brand SUPERFURL. I can't find anything in the forums. Thanks and smooth sailing, SEAN

I have a profurl

It was easy to install and does not require any modifications to the existing head stay. So far I like it better than my harken on my last boat. Remember that you will also need new sails or get yours modified with the proper tape and a UV cover (damn expensive). Richard

Furlers

Sean, Take a look at Practical Sailor Nov. 15, 1997. They don't test Superfurl but you can do your comparing after reading what they tested and looked for. If you don't have PS available to you I'd be glad to scan it and send it to you by email just let me know.. Happy Shoppin Mike

Respnse to CHUTE THE BREESE

I really would appreciate the e mail. I've been at this roller furler thing for about two weeks. Readers, don't even consider SUPERFURL. After further search, I found it to not be suitable for my boat. "BREEZE" Thanks again. My e mail address is seanshine@mailcity.com. SEANSHINE

I recently purchased a Catgalina 27 and I'm looking for a roller furling as well. A friend of mine has a Bravarian 35 with Superfurf and highly recommends it. I've crewed on his boat several times and it works pretty good. I sent an e mail to the factory and they sent back a price ($900) and a video on how to install it. Seems doable. I would add an UV protector to my sail for about ($250) in addition to the price of the Superfurl. Right now it's my first choice. Would like some specifics on what the disadvantages are. Thanks!
