A month or so ago, there was a discussion on this site about Biminis for small sailboats. Here is a photo of the one that I built for my 24 ft. O’Day 240. (I also built a matching one for my 22 ft. O’Day 222.) The sunshade is suspended by a telescoping awning pole lying against the backstay. The forward edge is supported by lines running from tips a forward pole to the shrouds. These forward running lines do slightly interfere with the main sheet while on a run or a broad reach, but this has never been a serious problem. The poles are slipped into sleeves sewn into the awning. For remaining construction details, see my following “Part 2” post.

Do you have more pictures

Very interesting. Do you have more pictures as I am more of a visual person and I am not quite clear how it is supported forward. Thanks
