Have not seen the sun in months but whenever it reappears I always use sunscreen. (as per orders from my family) Anyhow, all of my nice white t-shirts with sailing related logos have all been stained yellow from sunscreen.

Questions?

How do I get this crap off of my shirts, and what sunscreen is best to avoid the yellow stained collars?

This I can help with!

ah, you and my husband!
Aveeno does not stain nor does it drip into eyes or make you look freakish with white blotches all over. It comes 45 up to 75. I like the 55 and it seems the higher numbered ones, tend to stay too much on the surface.

To remove the yellow, just srpay with something like Shout, it works great.

See, I know nothing about engines or would not offer advise (although I think I know some things) on sail trim, I know my sunscreen and cleaning trivia! And don't even get me started on music :D

No-Ad brand was highly suggested in a boating magazine back in the 70's. I have no problem with it. I use it on the boat and at the beach. No burns, either.

Use non-staining, non-oil, water-based sunscreen, preferably the spray mist type. In the past, some of my water boat ski guests used oil-based sunscreen, which stained the white vinyl in my Correct Craft ski boat. It would come out so I eventually replaced the vinyl in selected areas. Since then I provide my guests with non-oil, water-based spray mist sunscreen, which does not stain.

Try washing the shirts in bleach to remove the stains.

Have used No-Ad for years and while it can discolor white, I found that it comes out easily in the wash.. ON THE OTHER HAND.. I found that it will take the red out of sunbrella and deposit that red pretty much indelibly on the next place you sit/sleep.. Friend has red cockpit cushons of sunbrella.. MAN what a mess.. the whole cockpit area was pink after 4 days .. took some months to mbleach out in the sun.. Had pink towells and sheets and jeans and stuff,,
