We started our Winter Racing Series on Sunday with a forcast of 6-8" of snow, 15-20kts of wind from the North. As it turned out we had a breezy but pleasent day on the lake. Winds were very gusty and the lake was choppy. We decided to use the small jib and full main in hopes not to need to reef. Hindsight being 20/20 I think I should have used my 135% and reefed the main. We wound up luffing the main most of the time and not having the drive of the 135%. The best part of the day was running approx 3-4 miles down the lake under the spinnaker. In the gusts, we were really hauling Butt. We didn't finish to well as the windward legs killed us, but it was a lot of fun. Until next time Scott H23 "No Alibi"
