I have a hunter 40.5 and plan to leave it in Fl from April to Dec every year on the hard. Other than Green Cove Springs I don't know of any DIY yards than are out of the wind (hurricanes). Appreciate any thoughts.
I'm in Oriental right now and want to leave it for Nov-Dec this year while I go home for Christmas & grandkids etc. Need a short term for that one.
I had a Catalina 34 at Indiantown for 4 years. Love to go back but don't want to pull the stick.

So why not Green Cove Springs? Seems that part of the ICW should be fairly well protected. What about the other side? The west coast of Florida has yards that have never seen a hurricane.

it's a bit of a trip to get there after coming back from the bahamas but thats probably what i'll do. their docks will only handle 35 feet so have to go to reynolds park temporarily.

We would take our 38 Island Packet to Indiantown every year while we came home during storm season. We would then paint the bottom and do our other repairs there while continuing to live aboard when we returned. Their prices and services were the best we found in Florida. The facility was excellect.

Tiger Point Marina and Boatworks in Fernandina Beach is an excellent yard. They allow DIY.

We keep our IP35 in the water at Oasis Boatyard & Marina in St. Augustine. They allow DIY in the water and in the yard. Plenty of folks around who store part of the year on the hard. The yard is gated. Certainly closer than going all the way to Green Cove.
