Alden 38' Challenger yawl Rockport Harbor
And what a sputtering wet season spring was. Hot westerly breezes brought sails out of countless granite nooks and crannys and onto the sparkling waters of Penobscot Bay yesterday.

After a nice reach down the western shore of the bay past Camden, I motored over and into Pulpit Harbor for a lunch stop. From there into the building westerly wind, I enjoyed a close haul until Rockport, lined up with a 100 degree reciprocal course on the compass.

It was the only tack of the day and I was pleasantly surprised to see we had 10 degrees to spare. Cracking off the sheets a bit, we roared homeward into the inner harbor ahead, just CHRISTMAS and I.
