Hi, I'm planning on upgrading my boat's fridge and wanted to get your recommendation on an Adler-Barbour configuration. I've currently got a Grunert system which works OK but the thing sucks amps at an alarming rate and it's really noisy. The box configuration is two compartments, The freezer is 24"deep X 12 " (left-right) X 17" (front-back) or 2.8 cu ft. The fridge compartment has a main box of 24x14x17 with a side shelf area of 12x13.5x17 for a combined total of 4.9 cu ft. The boxes are separated by a 1" thick insulated board. Thanks for any recommendations/suggestions you can provide. Jim h37.5 "Esmeral"

Large evaporator w/spillover

I would install the large evaporator (VD-152) in the freezer and control the refrigerator with our spillover fan kit (C7210)which is a thermostat controlled dc fan that draws air from the freezer onto the refer. The standard large evaporator is 12"Hx15"Wx6"D. It can also be ordered custom bent for your box. In a flat form it is 12"x40". It would have to be bent in a "U" shape. Most dealers charge an extra $100.00 for it.

Hey Jim E...A question.

Doing the same thing on my 1993 37.5 right now. Mine had an old AB Cold Machine that gave up the ghost late last year. Just pulled out all the parts yesterday. I have a new AB Cold Machine waiting to install with the large vertical box evaporator. I have a question for you: My refer box is one big box, no divider, etc. In fact, there appears to have originally been a board/stick front to back that the two doors sealed on top of but that's gone too. Can you describe how yours in divided? Was it this way originally or did you make the divider? I'm trying to determine how best to create two compartment, refer under the right hand door, freezer under the left hand. It looks like yours is the opposite, and maybe better. Your thoughts? Email me directly if you like: dcdon@hotmail.com Thanks.
