Suggestions for Haul Out near ST Pete FL.??

Hi All!
The wife and I are looking at a Catalina 30 down near Gulfport FL. We are going down for sea trials and survey in a couple of weeks, and need to find a marina within reasonable distance who can Haul the boat for an inspection of keel, rudder, through hulls, etc. We are relatively unfamiliar with the area so any intel and contact info on this would be appreciated!

When you choose a surveyor he might suggest a marina. Mine suggested one and it was a good thing I used it because there was a mix up on the date to pull the boat. Luckily he knew the lift guy and they worked it out.

Almost next door to Gulfport Marina by water is Maximo Moorings Marina. They are a full service marina and yard. I've never been hauled out there nor have I had work done there but I know people who have and it has a good reputation. By car it is a little more distant just because of the lay of the land but by no means far. Any local surveyor will be familiar with Maximo Moorings. Good Luck with you purchase.

If the boat is inside Tampa Bay then a yard in Salt Creek will be the best choice.

I wouldn't go to Salt Creek unless there are bad reports on Maximo.
The one I used in SC was not reputable. The one that was, wasn't available at the time I needed to haul.

Maximo is the closest as it is on Boca Ciega Bay. Another choice other than St. Petersburg is Blenker Boatworks. It is where I keep my boat. Located at the mouth of the Manatee River it is about three hours sail from Gulfport. It's a good place.
