Suggestions For Finishing Raw Fibreglass Around Port-lights

Hello! I recently purchased a 73 Newport 27 that underwent a pretty extensive refit about 10 years ago. One of the upgrades was new opening portlights but the original interior side fibreglass was cut away. Looking for some suggestions here to make the boat look less incomplete.

Thanks!

First, clean up the edges of where the liner was cut away, you can get U-shaped trim to go over any exposed edges. Those look like Lewmar ports, if so, they sell trim rings for the inside that will hide the metal frame.
Some options for the inside of the hull:
* Fair, sand and paint - this can be labor intensive depending on the roughness and the desired result.
* Glue mouse fur/ carpeting over the exposed hull areas - many boats come from the factory with this (mine included), it covers up a lot.
* Cover the hull with strips of wood (Ash is commonly used) - this would be my pick (see picture below).
* Make a new liner panel out of wood, starboard etc. to cover it up - but then your ports would be recessed without further work.

Thanks for the feedback @dmax - you are correct, they are Lewmar portlights, I do have the trim pieces for them. Strips of Ash might be the way to go in this little section. Did you epoxy battens to the hull and then just screw the ash strips into them? I think no matter what I do I will end up with a slight recess unless I paint.

I haven't done that to mine, would like to sometime. I know some people glue/epoxy ribs to the hull and screw the wood to the ribs.
