I recently purchased a 1975 O'Day 25. It has a Doyle genoa (I think about 135 or 150). There is no roller furling hardware on the boat now, but I believe it do at one time. The Doyle has a plastic insert on the luff that I assume was for the roller furling equipment. 1) Can you suggest an appropriate type/brand of roller furling? and 2) Can you tell what type of equipment from my description?

CDI Also Available Here

Hi Dave - Joe is right - the CDi furler is an excellent choice for your Oday 25. We sell them here in the OdayOwners.com Chandlery. I have put a link to the page below. Right now, Sailnet has them on special. For the duration, I'll meet their price if you decide to purchase and support this site. If you are interested, you can reach me at bly@sailboatowners.com.

Furlers etc.

Dave, From your description it sounds like your sail has luff tape on it. Double check it, the luff tape should have a rope at the front with a diameter of approx. 7/16". This size fits most furling units, including CDI. CDI Furlers are economical and work well on boats like the O'day 25. I would suggest getting a quote from Odayowners.com. They can let you know which unit is best for your boat. Thanks, Bill Colombo Doyle Sails
