Recalling prices around here, a Hobie 33 or Olsen 30 would be affordable. Both of them have done and trophied In the singlehanded transpac. Several I recall seeing needed cosmetics but had a good inventory of sails. Good luck! Oh, a Capri 30 should be on the list.

You could go to the dark side and consider an F-27 trimaran.

We had friends who had a FT10. Quite a handful, even fully crewed. Needs crew weight to hold it flat, too, since the keel isn’t that heavy. Outboard power shorthanded might get old quickly. May be outside of price range as well.

Olson 30 they win the Single handed Transpac regularly. Farr 30 is a handful and is not set up for single handing. You will spend $$ getting it so. For example main halyard is led out the bottom of the mast in the cabin, you need someone to feed the bolt rope in at the mast, so it is a 2 person job as designed. Jib is on a foil so when you lower it it tends to form a sea anchor. No real provision for reefing is another one. The FT10 and the Hendo 30 are likely about the same.

Mount Gay 30, Figaro 2 Wyliecat 30 are designed for shorthanded sailing. Or look at the Single Handed Sailing societies website, in the forums for sale you find an 2 Olson 30's for sale.

Located an interesting boat - Nelson Marek 30' (1989) in Ohio.
Mark Lindsey built and then keel modified by Alan Andrews.
All redone (Bottom, hull and tops). Existing owner has done a very nice job on her.
Has the original triple spreader rig, looks like it's never been updated and that could be
an expensive piece of equipment to do.
It's have numerous owners (8), not sure why so many.
Looks like a sweet boat.
Comments?

Is this a class of 2 boats? Check out the entries for the SHSS three bridge fiasco. There are about 25 Express 27's entered ( a boat to consider) and about 20 Moore 24's entered.

The N30 weighs per sailboat data 6500 lbs the O30 is 3600 lbs and basically the same sail-area. So the O30 should sail better and be easier to tow.

Was going to suggest an Evelyn 32, but it’s too wide. Tartan 10 would keep it simple, but too slow.
